Maus Funeral Home was established in 1971 in Attica, Indiana by Dale Maus. Dale had previously worked at DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica before purchasing the Roemer-Merryman Funeral Home. In 1974, Dale's Son, Robert D. Maus, received his Funeral Director's License and started working with his father at the funeral home.

In 1991, Maus Funeral Home expanded by adding a new location in Hillsboro, Indiana. Formerly known as Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, this second location was purchased from Halsey Williams. Halsey continues to work for Maus Funeral Home today.

In 1996, Dale Maus passed away and Robert took over the day-to-day operations of both funeral homes. Dale had served the Fountain, Warren, Montgomery and Tippecanoe Counties for over 62 years.

In 2000 Robert's wife, Valarie Maus, became licensed to sell pre-need for the funeral homes. A year later, Bonnie Childress was hired as a full time secretary and Daryl Whitlow was hired as another licensed funeral director.

In 2005, the casket selection room at our Attica branch was updated to show corner cut caskets. This allows for us to offer a wider selection of caskets as well as a more open floor plan to allow easier access to view our selection.

In 2007, our Hillsboro branch was remodeled to repair some minor damage from water leakage in the roof. The main chapel area had the ceiling raised and walls redone, the entrance area was given a face lift and the selection room was expanded and updated with corner cut caskets.
