Life Legacy

Champaign - James Albert Davidson, 81, of Champaign and formerly of Hillsboro, Indiana, died at his residence on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 7:10 a.m. following an illness. James was born in Fountain County, Indiana, on November 3, 1928. He was the son of the late James Albert and Bertha Ellen Corbin Davidson. He was raised in Waynetown, Wallace and Hillsboro. He attended school in Hillsboro and Wallace. James had lived for 25 years in El Paso, TX, before moving to Champaign in 2004. James married Iris M. Summers, on July 11, 1947 in the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2008. James formerly worked as a fork lift operator in El Paso for many years, before his retirement. James was baptized in the Wallace Lutheran Church and was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Kenneth) Burge, Champaign; Charolette (Gary) Howard, Veedersburg; two sisters, Kathryn Melvin and Joan Nicosson, both of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Jimmie R. Davidson, a grandson, Jack Curry, a brother, Donald Davidson and two sisters, Maxine Davidson and Betty Barnett. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, on Monday, Feb. 15th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. EST with Pastor Sharon Summers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Hill Cemetery.
