Attica - Albert "Skip" LeRoy Lilly II, 81, of Attica, passed away in the St. Vincent 86th Street Hospital, Indianapolis, IN on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 1:50 a.m. as a result of a fall at his home earlier in the week.
Skip, as he was known to family and friends, was born in the Maris Hospital, now St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, in Williamsport, Indiana on March 20, 1944.  He was the son of the late Albert "Pic" LeRoy and Thelma Ruth (Hopper) Lilly.  Skip was a life resident of the Attica community and graduated from Attica High School in 1962 where he was a percussionist in the high school band.  Following graduation, Skip attended Purdue University and also Ivy Tech, where he received education for his vocation at Eli Lilly in Lafayette.  Skip worked at Eli Lilly Laboratories, now Evonik, in Lafayette for 39 years as a maintenance coordinator.
Skip was an active member of the Attica Christian Church.  He enjoyed raising Angus cattle with his daughter, Sheri, to show at the local fair and beef shows.  He enjoyed attending his son Kip's concerts.  Sharing a love of maintenance, Skip and his son Mike often enjoyed discussion of the challenges of their jobs. He enjoyed the time spent at Crossroads Restaurant visiting with the local residents and dining on their comfort food.  He was an exceptional husband and caring father and grandfather.
Skip married his high school sweetheart, Judy S. Burlin on January 18, 1964 in the old Attica Christian Church.  Together they spent 61 years of marriage.
Skip leaves behind his wife, Judy and two sons, Albert "Kip" LeRoy (Vicki) Lilly III, Martinsville, IN and Stanley Michael "Mike" (Grace) Lilly, Roebuck, SC; a grandson, Lucas Lilly, Attica; two step grandchildren, Heather Willson of Shadeland, IN and Christopher (Vanessa) Willson, Greer, SC and a step great-grandson, Neil Willson, Greer, SC; his special fur buddy, a German Shepherd named Dutch.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri McClure; five sisters, Delores Truhart, Romona Peterson, Janice Waterstraat, Anita Gregory and Susan Sloan.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Attica Christian Church, 411 E. Sycamore St., Attica on Monday, November 10th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. with a celebration of Skip's life at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Hunter Chadwell officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church, 411 E.
