Attica - Aleta Ann (Hanthorn) Waters, 75, Attica, passed away in the IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 5:06 a.m.
Aleta was born in Williamsport, Indiana on November 17, 1950.  She was the daughter of the late Harold V. and Lola "Betty" J. (McFadden) Hanthorn.  Aleta was raised and lived all of her life in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1969.
She formerly worked at Consolidated Industries in Lafayette until its closing.
She enjoyed gardening and working on family genealogy.  Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed the time spent with them.
Aleta leaves behind four children, Jenny (Mike) Eads; Pat (Sherrie) Waters, Chad (Kelley) Waters and Jeremy (Christy) Waters, all of Attica; fourteen grandchildren, Honey (Josh) Strong, Chauncey Waters, Elizabeth (Rob) Hechinger, Michael (Taran) Eads, Kelci (Case) Craft, Sierra (Josh) Waters, Chasity (Zach) Waters, Tyler Moore, Mariah (Jeff) Bond, Hunter (Sydney) Eads, Ryan Moore, Chaley Waters, Ashlyn (Caleb) Ely and Jenna Waters; several great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria "Vickie" Horath and three brothers, Michael, Jeff and Mark Hanthorn.
A gravesite service for Aleta will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica, on Tuesday, June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Joel Whitehead officiating.
