Lafayette - Alice Marie (Hicks) Toman, 70, Lafayette, passed away in the Majestic Care Nursing Center, Lafayette, on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 6:14 a.m.
Alice was born in Lafayette, Indiana on February 13, 1955.  She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Olive (Simmons) Hicks.  She was raised in Lafayette and attended Lafayette Jefferson High School.  Alice has made her home in Lafayette for the past 50 years.
Alice formerly worked in housekeeping at McCutcheon Hall at Purdue University.  She retired at  Purdue University, working there for 35 years.
Alice was a member of the Salvation Army and enjoyed sewing and making blankets.
Alice married Roy Toman in West Lafayette in 1983.  Roy preceded her in death on December 24, 2016.
Alice leaves behind a son, Mike (Elizabeth) Hicks, Williamsport; four brothers, Virgil (Carla) Hicks, Lafayette; Doug (Brenda) Hicks, Lafayette; Perry Hicks, Westville, IN; Tony Hicks, Lafayette; a sister, Polly Hicks, Lafayette; three grandchildren, James Michael (Mikey) Hicks II, Logan Michael Hicks and Zaiya Hicks; nieces and nephews, Virgil Hicks IV, Jake Hicks, Lucy King, Dustin Fields, Mitchel Fields, Kayla Fields, Hayden Ward, Cartson Ward, Nicholi Ward, D.J. Hicks, Shera Hicks, Emmy Hicks, Kristy Hicks, David Hicks, Zack Hicks, Brittany Skillie, Miranda Weeks, Darren Hicks, Joshua Hicks, Leslie Whitten and Jared Hicks.  She was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren, Wade, Lilly and Sutton Hicks.
A celebration of Alice's life will be held on July 27th, from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at 2033 W. State Road 63, Williamsport, IN.
