Attica - Anita Lynne (McGinnis) Simmons, 72, of Attica died at 5:40 p.m on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis.

Anita was born on April 19, 1948 in Hammond. She was the daughter of Edna (Dommer) McGinnis and the late John McGinnis. She grew up in Lafayette and graduated from Jeff High School in 1966. After high school she began working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance in Lafayette. She later moved to Attica where she held various jobs including working in the Deli Department for the IGA.

Surviving along with her mother are a brother, Don (Sharon) McGinnis, The Villages, FL; and close friends, Saundra "Sandy" & Steven Frodge, Attica.

As per Anita's wishes, cremation will take place with no services. Contributions may be made to Paws 'n Claws Animal Shelter, Attica.
