Attica - Anna Louise (Snider) Bowman, 98, Attica, passed away at the home of her daughter in Attica, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 3:17 p.m.
Louise, as she was known to family and friends, was born at home in Logan Township of Fountain County, Indiana on October 29, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Alva and Eva (Stetler) Snider. She was a life resident of Fountain County, attending Vine Grade School and graduating from Attica High School in 1943.
Louise formerly worked as a clerk in the Grab-It-Here Grocery Store and later in the office of the Ledger Tribune Newspaper in Attica. She and her husband later owned Bowman's Hardware Store in Veedersburg until their retirement.
Louise was a member of the Bethel Community Church east of Attica. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crossword puzzles, fishing and hunting mushrooms.
On December 4, 1942, Louise married Luther D. Bowman in Lafayette. Luther preceded her in death on August 12, 2010.
Louise leaves behind a daughter, Cheryl Roach and a son, Steven Bowman, both of Attica; a brother, Fred (Nancie) Snider, Attica; three granddaughters, Charlotte Wilson, Attica; Heather (Mike) Brinkman, Attica and Delisa (Bill) Farrar, Williamsport; ten great-grandchildren, Steven Bowman, Samantha (Zach) Badgley, Storm Slaven, Stephanie (Nick) Scheurich, Seth Farrar, Ashley Wilson, Lauren Brinkman, twins Courtney Brinkman and Catlin (Blake) Childress and Kaleb Brinkman; nine great great-grandchildren, with a great great-granddaughter on the way. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ivan "Pud" Roach; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Bowman; a great-great granddaughter, Gracie Taylor; a grandson-in-law, Dewayne Wilson; two brothers, Howard Snider and John Snider along with three sisters, Doris Perkins, Rita Foltz and Joan Corbett.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, June 16th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tracy Acord officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Community Church.
