Attica - Anna May (Carr) Mitton Burton, 72, Attica, passed away at her home, with her son by her side, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 1:20 a.m.
Anna was born in Danville, Illinois on August 4, 1951. She was the daughter of James Turpin and Patricia J. (Carr) Hyland. She has lived most of her life in Attica and attended Attica High School.
Anna first worked at the Attica Laundromat and later at Radio Material Corp. in Attica. She then began to work at Schumaker Factory in Hoopeston, IL and retired from Kuri Tech in Attica.
Anna enjoyed watching and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts. She enjoyed raising flowers.
Anna was first married to Richard Mitton. She later married Roger Burton.
She leaves behind three sons, Danny (Brenda) Mitton, Pensacola, FL; Steve Mitton, Attica and Nathan (Lauren) Burton, Granger, IN; five grandchildren, Carter Burton, Aubrey Mitton, Ashley (Kelton) Nevins, Kyle Mitton and Autumn Bemenderfer; a great-grandson, Marshall Nevins; a sister, Rita Kay (Christopher) Brown, Williamsport; two brothers, Paul Hyland, Oklahoma and Troy Hyland, West Lebanon. Anna was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Turpin and a sister, Rosemary Ingram.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, April 2nd from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jeff Stedge. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
