Attica - Arnold Clyde Ray, 78, Attica, passed away at his niece's residence in Lafayette, on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:18 p.m.

Arnold was born in Harlan, Kentucky on August 22, 1942. He was the son of the late Walter D. and Armenia E. (Lawson) Ray. At an early age, Arnold moved to Warren County, Indiana and was educated at the Pine Village School. He later moved to Muskegon, MI and lived for over forty years before moving back to Indiana and settling in Attica.

Arnold formerly worked at Integrated Metal Technology in Ferrysburg, MI and later at AlCOA Aluminum in Fruitport, MI where he retired.
He was a veteran serving in Vietnam and at the time of his honorable discharge in 1966 he had attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was first married to Florence Cox and later married Cheryl Anscomb. She preceded him in death.

Arnold leaves behind a son, Michael Ray of Attica and a daughter, Bonnie (Companion - Nathan Dotson) Ray of Attica; two brothers, Fred Ray, Lafayette and Randy (Rita) Ray, Otterbein; three sisters, Geraldina "Dean" Brovont, Otterbein; Betty Lou Sundqvist, Otterbein and Eva Irene Booth, Summerville, SC; eight grandchildren, John (Kristen) Farley, Attica; Vincent (Brittney Campbell) Farley, Williamsport; Austin (Destiny Spencer) Ray, Attica; Anthony (Bonnie Baker) Wabindato, Muskegon, MI; Jacob (Arin Wildig) Wabindato, Grand Haven, MI; Nathan (Lea Foster) Ray, Muskegon, MI; Joseph Ray, Muskegon, MI and Jacee Puhalski, Whitehall, MI; eight great-grandchildren, Helaina, Trinity, Emileigh, William, Peyton and Ava Farley; Ryan and Brandon Wesley. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Farley and a great-granddaughter, Natalie Wesley; four brothers, Ambrose, Otis, Edgar and Cecil Ray along with two sisters, Pearl Keller and Goldie Spurlock.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Forever Grace Church in Montmorenci on Friday, August 20th, from 12:00 p.m. until the memorial service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Sims officiating. Military honors will be conducted following the memorial service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Mound Cemetery, south of Pine Village. Memorial contributions may be made to defray funeral expenses. Family requests that facial masks be worn to protect the family.
