Attica - Arvilla Marie (Bossaer) Magee, 95, Attica, passed away in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1:10 p.m.
Arvilla was born at home in Logan Township of Fountain County, Indiana on February 27, 1929.  She was the daughter of the late John Francis and Vera Irene (Hogstrum) Bossaer.  Arvilla was a life resident of the Riverside community near Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1947.
Arvilla first began working as a bookkeeper for the Attica Ledger Tribune and later worked in the cafeteria at the Attica High School.  She later worked for the Indiana Gas Company in the Attica office and later transferred to Duke Energy, working as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 2003.
Arvilla was an active member of the Bethel Community Church, serving as a trustee and treasurer of the church for many years.  She also taught Sunday School and was the church pianist.  She was a member of the Bethel Community Circle and the Bethel Ladies Aide.  She enjoyed the time playing cards with her family and friends. She was an avid bowler and bowled at Shawnee Lanes in Attica and on Sunday Night Ladies League in Oxford and also served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Ladies League. Arvilla was inducted into the Attica Bowling Hall of Fame.  She was a local sports fan as well a fan of the Purdue University and Chicago Cubs.
On May 6, 1960, Arvilla married Charles Andrew Magee in the family home near Riverside.  Charles preceded her in death on February 24, 1998.
Arvilla leaves behind three nephews, Jeff (Peggy) Bossaer, Attica; Greg (Betsy) Bossaer, Reynolds and Mike (Alma) Bossaer, Attica; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; six great great-nephews; five great great-nieces; five step grandsons; several step great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, John Charles Magee; step son & step daughter-in-law, Buddy & Betty Magee; two nieces, Susan Milach and Shiela Gustus; a great-nephew, Matthew Milach;  two brothers and sister-in-laws, Glen (Janet) Bossaer and John (Pauline) Bossaer.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, January 9th from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tracy Acord officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Community Church or to ASK (Area Sharing Kindness).
