Attica - Ava L. (Taylor) Baldwin Moody, 83, Attica, passed away quietly at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 4:14 p.m.
Ava was born in Attica, Indiana on October 16, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Noel Clyde and Gladys Louise (Mickle) Taylor. Ava was raised in Riverside and Winthrop, graduating from Pine Village High School in 1956. She has lived most of her adult life in Attica.
Ava formerly worked as a bookkeeper for Pritscher-Scott Car Dealership in Attica. She later worked as the cafeteria bookkeeper for the Attica School Corporation. Then later worked as an aide for the handicap bus at the Attica School.
Ava had been attending the Williamsport Christian Church. She was an avid reader. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling and golfing. She along with the family were avid Purdue sports fans.
Ava was first married to James H. Baldwin on June 8, 1956 in Independence. James preceded her in death on February 3, 1981. She later married Gene Moody in 1983 in Attica. Gene preceded her in death on February 15, 1987. On September 8, 1989 Ava married James Donald "Don" Moody in the Attica First United Methodist Church. Don preceded her in death on April 10, 2010.
Ava leaves behind a daughter, Cathy (Roger) Capps, Attica; a son, Adam (Melina) Baldwin, Union Mills, IN and a step son, Mike (Donna) Moody, Attica; eight grandchildren, Amy (Patrick) Rice, Arizona; Bryan (Lauren) Morgan, Attica; Carlee Capps, Crawfordsville; Kiefer (Alex) Capps, Texas; Taylor (Taylor) Felinski, Portage; Addy Swango and Hunter Baldwin, Union Mills; Justin Moody, Attica; eight great-grandchildren, Ella, Ollie, Jovie, Laycee, Raleigh, Gracelynn, Stella and Lyric; two sisters, Ruthie Lewis, Merrillville and Norma Taylor, Indianapolis; Brother, George Taylor, Williamsport; three sisters-in-law, Connie Lohmeyer Shirley, Carolyn Taylor and Nancy Taylor; a brother-in-law, Terry Fuller; special friends, Linda Scott, Leah Helms and Marcia Boles. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery  Baldwin, and seven siblings, Bernice Buck, Jim Taylor, Pat Gengler, Charles Taylor, Chauncey Taylor, Morris Taylor and Judy Fuller.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, November 4th from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Ava's nephews, Brad and Steve Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica, Memorial contributions may be made to the AMDF (America Macular Degeneration Foundation -macular.org).
