Betty June (Richardson) Amburn, 85, formerly of Hillsboro and had been residing in Clinton, IN, passed away in the Clinton Gardens, Clinton, IN on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. following her failing health.
Betty was born in Muncie, Indiana on February 15, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Olive (Hesler) Richardson. Betty was raised in Selma, Indiana graduating from Selma High School in 1958. She later received her B.S. degree in Social Sciences from Ball State University. She moved to Hillsboro in 1968 and following the passing of her husband in 2021 moved to Clinton, Indiana.
Betty was a homemaker and farm wife. She was the bookkeeper for the family farm.
Betty was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. She was a member of the Home Economics Club of Hillsboro. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, embroidering. She was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and I.U. sports fan. She kept her bird feeders full and enjoyed watching the birds, especially the finches and hummingbirds, feed outside her window.
On March 11, 1961, Betty married Richard R. Amburn in Muncie, IN. Richard preceded her in death on February 13, 2021.
Betty leaves behind a son, Jeffrey W. (Tina) Amburn, Anderson, IN; three daughters, Kathleen (Ray) Reissmann, Kingman, IN; Brenda (Jim) Seibold, Clinton, IN and Nancy L. (Scott Gorham) Thomas, Crawfordsville; a brother, Gary (Susan) Richardson, Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Mayme (Jacob) Fuchs, Malia Finch, Anastasia (Michael) Schanlaub, Hayley Thomas, Trista Thomas, Kayla Thomas, Cassidy Thomas, Jolee Gorham and Reed Gorham; six great-grandchildren, Ramsey, Hazel, Evelyn, Addison, Emily and Joseph.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, on Friday, April 11th, from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Crum officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hux Center, 1711 N. 6th ½ St., Suite 100, Terre Haute, IN 47804.
