Attica - Betty Marie (Smith) Brummett, 84, of rural Attica, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 9:14 a.m.
Betty was born in Brewster, Ohio on September 15, 1937. She was the daughter of the late George E. and Mary (Carroll) Smith. She was raised in Brewster, Ohio before moving to Indiana. She has been a resident of rural Attica for 30 years. Betty received her GED from Seeger High School.
Betty formerly worked at Radio Material Corp. in Attica. She also was a stay-at-home mother to raise her four girls.
Betty was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post # 3318 of Attica. While living in northern Indiana she attended the Hamlet Wesleyan Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She also enjoyed singing in a gospel quartet in the early 60's. She was a master gardener and enjoyed canning. She also enjoyed sewing. Traveling was a highlight for her and enjoyed the time with family.
On July 19, 1980 Betty married Donald G. Brummett in Independence, IN. Donald preceded her in death on June 29, 2002.
Betty leaves behind three daughters, Linda S. (William) Wright, West Lafayette; Brenda K. (the late Byron) Cheesman, Covington and Sandra L. (the late Terry) Dobbels, Attica; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Wilson; two sisters, Anna Lutz and Connie Kits; two brothers, Chuck and Jimmy Frizzell.
As per Betty's request she will be cremated with no public services.
