Hillsboro - Betty Marie (Bader) Dotson, 96, Hillsboro, passed away in the Waters of Covington, on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:20 a.m.
Betty was born in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio on August 24, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Carl Raymond and Sophie (Pieper) Bader. Betty was raised Butler County, Ohio and graduated from Ross Township High School in Butler County, Ohio in 1944. Following graduation, Betty worked as a secretary for the Soil Conservation Service in Butler County, Ohio.
On March 12, 1949, Betty married Gerald Leon Dotson in Butler County Ohio. Gerald preceded Betty in death on May 20, 2007.
Following their marriage, Betty and Gerald moved to Indiana and resided in Kingman until later moving to Hillsboro in 1955 where they have resided.
Betty and Gerald formerly owned the Chatterbox Restaurant in Hillsboro from December 1978 until December 1991. Betty was an active member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. She served as Girl Scout Leader from 1958-1988. She was also active in the Fountain County Genealogy Society serving as secretary for many years.
Betty leaves behind her son, Philip (Diana) Dotson, Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Megan) Shaw, Trevor (Amanda) Hohenstein, Christina (Tony) Delaney, Breanne Fields and Raymond (Jessica) Dotson; fourteen great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Kyle (Lorie) Mausbach, Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annetta Mausbach and a sister, Ruth Witte.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, on Saturday, September 24th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Inskeep officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church or the Fountain County Genealogy Society.
