Attica - Beverly Ann (Fix) Schwenk, 83, formerly of Attica died at 6:27 pm on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Glasswater Creek of Lafayette where she had been residing since 2020.
Beverly was born in Lafayette on October 6, 1942 to the late Merle and Esther (Carlson) Fix.  She lived most of her life in Fountain County and graduated from Attica High School in 1960.  She attended Elkhart University studying as a medical lab technician using her degree to work for the Purdue University Veterinary School. She later attended Indiana State University, receiving her BSW in social work in 1993.   She worked as a substitute teacher for the Lafayette Public School System and had worked as a social worker for Area IV on Aging and Community Action.
Beverly was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.  She also enjoyed volunteering at the Attica First United Methodist Thrift Store.  She loved all types of music, flowers, talking with friends, sitting outside in the sun and creating art.  She was always in a beautiful outfit, as she loved clothes and looking put together.  She also loved styling her hair and was excited to try new hair styles.
Beverly is survived by a son, Stephen (Christina) Schwenk, Hampton, VA; a daughter, Kimberly (Keith Royer) Schwenk, Portland, ME; a sister, Cathy (Larry) Hiller, Attica; a brother, Carl Fix, College Corner; a grandson, Brandon Schwenk, Hampton, VA; and a granddaughter, Rebekah (Baylor) Joseph, of Newport News, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with Father David Rasner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Contributions may be made to the Attica First United Methodist Church - Side Door Pantry or the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church
