Attica - Billie Joan (Goings) House, 83, of Lafayette and formerly of Attica, passed away at the IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 10:37 a.m.
Billie was born in Danville, Illinois on January 19, 1938. She was the daughter of the late William G. and Mary M. (Forrest) Goings. She was raised in Veedersburg and graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1955. She later moved to Williamsport and had been a resident of Attica since 1989.
Billie formerly worked as a nurses aide at the Community Hospital in Williamsport. She later worked at Tee Pak in Danville until her retirement.
She enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. In her early years she and the family performed as a musical group called the 4G's. They performed mainly in local area and on WDAN Radio in Danville. Her greatest passion was the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On March 2, 1956, Billie married Robert Louis House in Veedersburg, IN. Robert preceded her in death on May 30, 1999.
Billie leaves behind her three children, Mary (companion-Gary Simmons) Cripe, Attica; Jeff (Deanna) House, Attica and Machel (Gordon) Campbell, Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Nolan, Attica and Gabe (Brittany) Cripe, Lafayette; five great-grandchildren, Kendyl, Jaxson, Beckham and Lincoln Nolan along with Gage Cripe; three sisters, Alta Mae (Pat) Wilson, Manistee, MI; Mary Louise (Larry) Schultz,Veedersburg; Myra Lee Goings, Winamac, IN; two brothers, Forrest William (Marcia) Goings, New Richmod, IN and Jerry Dean (Becky) Goings, Veedersburg; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, October 9th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
