Attica - Billy Joe Wilkinson, 82, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Peru, IN, passed away in the Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru, IN on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 5:05 a.m.
Billy was born in Danville, Illinois on April 7, 1942.  He was the son of Lawrence and Gladys (Booe) Wilkinson.  Billy was raised in Attica and attended the Shawnee School.  He lived most of his life in Attica, moving to Peru in 2013.
While living in Attica, Billy worked at Pat's Rummage Room and Radio Material Corp.
Billy enjoyed being outside fishing,  going for walks, mowing, working on mowers, bikes, gardening and bingo.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  In his younger years, Billy enjoyed playing the guitar, harmonica and accordion. After moving to Peru he enjoyed going on short trips with his nephew, Bobby Wilkinson, in his semi.
Billy leaves behind his brother, Larry Wilkinson, Covington, IN; several nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by four sisters, Carolyn Childress, Margie Crowder, Loreda Calvert and Ellen Carter; also six brothers, Merlin, Robert, Virgil, Lorris, Lester and Richard Wilkinson.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, May 19th, from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Joshua Barnett officiating.   Burial will follow in the Union Christian Cemetery, west of Newtown, IN.
