Attica - Bonnie LaVaghn (Burnett) Bennett, 73, Attica, passed away in the Williamsport Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 1:30 a.m.
Bonnie was born in Bremerton, Washington on January 1, 1947. She was the daughter of the late William Durward Burnett and Olah (Riley) Sorters. Bonnie was raised in California and graduated from Calaveras High School in San Andres, CA. She has resided in Attica for the past 15 years.
Bonnie formerly worked as a waitress in various restaurants in California. After moving to Attica, Bonnie became interested in volunteering for various functions in Attica. Her most notable volunteer work was with ASK (Area Sharing Kindness). She was known as the "white haired lady that ran the food bank". She worked as the Director of Operations for the ASK Program. She also volunteered her time delivering meals for the Williamsport Senior Center.
She was first married to Eduard Sobotker. She later married Steven E. Bennett Jr. on April 27, 1996 in Apache Junction, AZ.
She leaves her husband, Steven of 24 years along with a daughter, Stacy (Cris) Ying, San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
As per Bonnie's request, she will be cremated and no services are to be scheduled.
