Veedersburg - Carolyn Sue (Fraizer) Stockdale, 89, of rural Veedersburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:47 a.m. with family by her side.
Carolyn was born Nov.18,1935 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Harold and Jane (Taylor) Fraizer.
Carolyn married Paul Gene Stockdale on August 16, 1959 at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Carolyn graduated from Hillsboro High School and Indiana State University with a music major and English minor. Carolyn was a member of Chi Omega Sorority at Indiana State University. Carolyn taught music and English at Hillsboro Elementary and Hillsboro High School. She also taught music at Perrysville Elementary.
Carolyn was a lifelong member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Carolyn was also a member of Eastern Star, served as Fountain County Choir Director, a Member of Delta Kappa Gamma, as well as the Hillsboro Harmony Club, Hillsboro United Methodist Women, and served as Choir Director at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Gene of 65 years; a son Wesley (Sara) Stockdale Veedersburg, and a daughter Cara (Bruce) Kiesewetter, Crawfordsville, IA. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Jake (Kylie) Stockdale of Veedersburg, Kale Kiesewetter and Will Kiesewetter of Columbus Junction, IA and one great granddaughter Sawyer (Jake & Kylie) Stockdale, Veedersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sally Kinser (Jim) Florida, and a granddaughter Jamie Stockdale.
A special thanks to the team at Southern Care Hospice for their efforts, compassion, and care.
A gravesite service will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, Indiana on Thursday, February 6th, at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jim Stephens of the Southern Care Hospice officiating.
