Attica - Catherine E. (See) Bracken, 100, Attica, passed away in Autumn Trace, Attica, on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 7:36 a.m.
Catherine was born in Danville, Illinois on August 5, 1924.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dama (Harness) See.  She was raised in Danville, IL, Cates and Kingman where she graduated from Kingman High School.
On August 26, 1944, Catherine married Robert Bracken in Veedersburg, IN.  They later moved to Attica and Catherine worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Bracken Mobile Service Station for 25 years.  Robert preceded her in death on January 27, 1995.
Besides being a bookkeeper for the family business, Catherine was a stay-at-home mother, helping to raise her two sons.
Catherine leaves behind two sons, Tom (Carol) Bracken, Lafayette and Art (Karen) Bracken, Attica; five grandchildren, Rod Bracken, Lafayette; Cathi (Scott) McCoskey, Fishers; Nicki (Barry) Merkel, Lafayette; Shannon (Todd) Williams, Lafayette and Adam (Jessica) Bracken, Lafayette; thirteen great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Sanders and Thelma Oliver.
The family would like to take this time to express their appreciation to the staff of Autumn Trace and Elara Caring Hospice for the care and compassion that was shown Catherine during her stay at Autumn Trace.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, February 8th, from 11:00 a.m. until the memorial service time at 1:00 p.m. with family and friends sharing memories.  Inurnment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
