Crawfordsville - Charlene Ann (Melvin) Rogers Booe, 74, formerly of Crawfordsville and Hillsboro, passed away in the Lane House in Crawfordsville on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 11:50 a.m.
Charlene was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on June 2, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Ward Ernest and Kathryn Irene (Davidson) Melvin. Charlene was raised in Crawfordsville and attended Crawfordsville High School. She had lived most of her adult life in Crawfordsville and more recently lived in Hillsboro. Following the passing of her husband, she moved to Danville to live with her son.
Charlene formerly worked for several years at R.R. Donnelley & Son in Crawfordsville.
Charlene enjoyed sewing and fishing.
On October 15, 1998, Charlene married Larry Francis Booe in Covington, IN. Larry preceded her in death on September 12, 2006.
Charlene leaves behind her son, James Rogers, Danville, IL; a daughter, Tami Little, Crawfordsville; a brother, Ernest "Sonny" (Katherine) Melvin, Crawfordsville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Timothy Rogers; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Rogers and a sister, Kay Remely.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro on Friday, March 13th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
