Attica - Charles Edward Parker, Sr., 92, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Pine River, MN, passed away in the St. Cloud VA Health Care System, in St. Cloud, MN on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Ed, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Lafayette, Indiana on May 10, 1933.  He was the son of the late Marion Paul and Carolyn Christine (Edwards) Parker.  Ed was raised in Lafayette, graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1952.  Ed formerly worked at National Homes in Lafayette and for 10 years worked at Suburban Floor Covering in Lafayette.  Ed later moved to Attica, where he started the Ed Parker Floor Covering business and worked for 27 years until his retirement in November of 1995.
Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  At the time of his honorable discharge in 1955 he had attained the rank of Corporal (T).
Ed was a life member and Past Commander of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica; member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post # 52 of Attica; member of the Wildlife Conservation Club.
On December 19, 1952, Ed married Lela May Snell in Indianapolis, IN.  They were married for 67 years until her passing on December 21, 2019.
Ed leaves behind three daughters, Debby (Danny) Pennington, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Sandy (Doug Curry) Prien, Pine River, MN and Evelyn (Steve) Gollmer, Jamestown, OH; a son, Charles "Chuck" Edward (Karen) Parker, Jr., White Springs, FL; a sister, Phyllis Plantenga, Brookston; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, John G. Parker and a sister, Carolyn Bryant.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, February 21st from 11:00 a.m. until the service time a 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Jordan officiating.  Burial with military honors will be held in the Bethel Cemetery, east of Attica.
