Williamsport - Charles Edward Fink, 91, formerly of rural Williamsport but residing in Lafayette since 2015, passed away peacefully at his home, with his daughters by his side, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
Charles was born at home in Warren County, Indiana, on October 25, 1933. He was the son of the late Ernest Herman and Weltha Joyce (Whitlock) Fink. He lived most of his life in Warren County, graduating from Pine Village High School in 1951.  After high school, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army near the end of the Korean War and served as a Clerk Typist for 3 years in Wiesbaden, Germany. At the time of his honorable discharge he had attained the rank of SP2 (T)—Specialist 2nd Class.
After returning home, Charles farmed with his brother, Herman, in Liberty Township for more than 40 years. He also drove a school bus for the Metropolitan School District of Warren County for 36 years. Following retirement from farming and bus driving, he served as Dairy Manager for the Attica IGA for 17 years.
Charles was a member and served as an Elder of the Hickman Heights Christian Church. He served on the Church Board during the reconstruction of the Church in 1988. He served as a Warren County Councilman for 10 years. He enjoyed woodworking and wood carving. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. A lot of children remember him as their bus driver. As a veteran, he was selected to travel on the Honor Flight on October 23, 2017.
On September 28, 1957, Charles married Janet Lee Hurd in the Williamsport United Methodist Church. Janet preceded him in death on August 28, 2021.
Charles leaves behind his three daughters, Susan Charlene (Chuck Bales, companion) Fink, Debra Lee Fink and Carolyn Sue Fink, all of Lafayette; three brothers, Jack Fink, Larry Fink and Michael (Linda) Fink, all of rural Williamsport; two sisters, Linda Neal, Williamsport and Kathy (Bill) Burton, Fowler.  Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Fink and two sisters, Joyce Haddock and Judy Scolley.
Friends may be received at the Maus Funeral Home in Attica on Sunday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friends may be received at the Hickman Heights Christian Church, 3291 N. 100 E. Williamsport, on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. With Pastors Terry Chase, Ian Costandi & family friend, Steve Brier officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rainsville Cemetery, Rainsville, IN.
