West Lafayette - Charles Eugene Kerkhove, age 82, of West Lafayette, IN, died at home on September 27, 2022.
Charles Kerkhove was born in Warren County, Indiana on July 3, 1940 to Bernard and Margaret (Simpson) Kerkhove, who preceded him in death. Mr. Kerkhove graduated from Attica High School in 1958. He married Shirley Ann Senesac on June 17, 1961 in Fowler, IN.
Mr. Kerkhove spent most of his life in Attica where he raised his family and was active in the community for over 70 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Council, an Attica City Council member for 12 years, Lions Club member, Knights of Columbus, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He most recently attended Blessed Sacrament Church in West Lafayette.
Mr. Kerkhove retired from Eli Lilly & Company, Tippecanoe plant in Lafayette, IN after a 30-year career. He was an avid bridge player and reader. He loved to play golf, travel to spend time with his family and spend winters in Florida.
He is survived by his children, Kelly (James) Whitaker of Windermere, FL, John of Rochester, NY, Kathy (Stacey) Longest of Brentwood, TN, Joe (Abby) of Phoenix, AZ, brother-in-law Tim (Debbie) Senesac of Logansport, IN, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Kerkhove.
A Rosary service will be recited at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, September 30th, at 4:30 p.m. followed by a visitation from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Saturday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Rasner officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica.
