Hillsboro - Charles Lynn "Lynn" Ratcliff, 78, formerly of Hillsboro and had been residing in Veedersburg, passed away in the Heritage Healthcare Center, West Lafayette, IN on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 10:52 p.m.
Lynn, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on August 10, 1947.  He was the son of the late Russell and Ruth (Chase) Ratcliff.  He was raised in the Mellott area, attending Richland Township High School, where he played basketball.  He later graduated from the first graduating class at Fountain Central High School in 1966.
Lynn farmed for a number of years south of Hillsboro and later owned and operated Ratcliff Trucking and Excavating.  He lived most of his adult life in Hillsboro and more recently lived in Veedersburg.
Lynn was a member of the Sterling Christian Church.  He enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to fish and hunt.  He had a kind spirit toward kids.
Lynn married Lisa May Stonecipher on July 26, 1997 in the Sterling Christian Church.  Lisa preceded him in death on November 28, 2011.
Lynn leaves behind four sons, Ross Ratcliff, Crawfordsville; Casey Ratcliff, West Lafayette; Jimmy Ratcliff, Crawfordsville and Charles "Chuck" Lynn (companion-Charlotte Dodson) Ratcliff, LaPorte, IN; two sisters, Phyllis Delmage, Mobile, AL; Jean Allen, Westville, IN and a brother, Mike (Zandra) Ratcliff, Rensselaer, IN; three grandsons, Riley, Andrew and Charlie Ratcliff; a granddaughter, Tiffany Ratcliff; a great-grandson, Nolan Ratcliff and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Ratcliff.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, on Monday, March 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Newtown Cemetery Association.
