Attica -Clifford Earl Haddock, 90, of rural Attica (Hickman Heights community) passed away in the Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 10:15 p.m.
Earl, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Tab, Indiana on March 10, 1931. He was the son of the late James Arvil and Frances Coral (Pugh) Haddock. Earl was a life resident of Warren County and was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School.
Earl worked for the Kroger Grocery Stores in Attica, Lafayette and later in Crawfordsville as a head cashier and co-manager of the stores. He retired from Kroger in 1991 after 27 years of service to the store. Earl also farmed during this time in Liberty Township in Warren County.
Earl entered the U.S. Navy on December 1, 1951 and served during the Korean War. At the time of his honorable discharge on April 30, 1954 he had attained the rank of Quarter Master 3rd Class.
After returning from the service, Earl married Joyce Ann Fink on May 22, 1955 in Attica.
Earl was a member of the Hickman Heights Christian Church, serving as a Deacon for the church. He also served as Liberty Township Trustee for two terms.
Earl leaves behind his wife, Joyce of nearly 67 years along with their four children, Randy (Jane) Haddock, Attica; Julia (Jim) Haddock-Davis, Williamsport; John (Twila) Haddock, Williamsport and Lisa (Todd) Morgan, Concord, CA; seven grandchildren, Jill Haddock Eberly, Amanda Haddock, John (Kara) Haddock, Joseph (Vanesa) Haddock, Jennifer (Jarom) McLiver, Jordan (Tanner) Casper and Emily (Yosvan) Campos; five great-grandchildren, Conor Eberly; Emmaline, Christian and Jameson McLiver;William Casper; a sister, Janice (Don) Hunter, West Point; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Ryan Morgan; two sisters, Louise Pugh and Carol Raplee along with a brother, Wayne Haddock.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, January 20th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Hickman Heights Christian Church on Friday, January 21st at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ian Constandi officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rainsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to National Brain Tumor Society-www.braintumor.org or by check to National Brain Society, 55 Chapel Street, Suite 200, Newton, MA 02458. Due to the recent outbreak in COVID, family requests that you wear masks and avoid contact with the family during the visitation and services.
