Attica - Constance "Connie" Renee (Martin) Bushong, 41, of rural Attica, died at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Lafayette Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, Lafayette.  She had been in ill health since suffering an aneurysm in August.
Connie was born in Lafayette on November 24, 1982.  She is the daughter of Brad Martin and Annette Ellis.  She was a lifelong resident of the Attica Area, graduating from Seeger High School in 2001.  She later earned her nursing degree from Ivy Tech in 2020.  She then began working at the Indiana Veteran's Home in Lafayette until her health issues began.
Connie married Jonathan Bushong on June 1, 2019 in Attica.  He survives
Connie loved animals, especially horses.  She was always taking in sick animals to try and bring back their health.  She and her husband ran Bushong Pasture Pigs in Warren County.  Growing up, she loved 4-H and the FFA.  She had been a member of the drill team and girls basketball team at Seeger High School.  She still loved to watch basketball as well.
Surviving along with her husband are her parents, Brad (Marceita "Keat") Martin, Attica and Annette (Jim) Ellis, Kingsport, TN; five children, Wyatt James Rayburn, with the Army in Missouri, Montana Leigh Rayburn, Romney, Roarie Bushong, Crawfordsville, Lillian Peterson, Hutchinson, MN and Jaxon Bushong, Attica; a brother, Robert "Bob" (Hannah Lesley) Martin, Kingsport, TN; sister, Ashleay (Kendall) Briles, Williamsport; step brothers, Brandon (Kaitlin) Beard and Brock Beard, both of Attica; step sister, Brenna Beard, Monticello; and aunts and uncles, Janet & Doug Oliver, Colfax, IL and Judy & Perry Schnarr, Lafayette.
Visitation will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Contributions may be made to the Warren County 4-H Foundation.
