Dale Michael
Carroll
Nov 14, 1954 — Mar 18, 2024
Attica
Attica - Dale Michael Carroll, 69, of Attica died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Dale was born on November 14, 1954 in Detroit, MI. He was the son of the late William "Bill" and Mary Jane (Timmins) Carroll. Dale grew up in Inkster, Michigan. He graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Dearborn, MI in 1972, and attended Michigan State University, graduating in 1977. In 1995 Dale moved to Independence, IN with his family, then moved to Attica in 2007. He was previously married to Natalie Carroll.
While in Michigan, Dale worked for the General Motors Proving Grounds and the GM Technical Center from 1977-1993. Once he moved to the Attica area, he began working for the Warren County MSD; first as an aide at Pine Village Elementary School and later teaching engineering courses at Seeger High School for Project Lead the Way.
Dale was very passionate about youth education. During his time at Pine Village he served as Math Bowl coach and was an active volunteer on the Pine Village PTO, sitting as President for one year. He loved sports and coaching. While at Seeger, Dale led high school teams as a swim coach and assistant baseball coach for many years. Many from the community will recognize him from his time running the Patriot Athletic Center. One of his favorite responsibilities was painting his perfectly straight lines on the Seeger football field before a game.
Dale was an avid golfer. He loved golfing with his brothers and extended family. The family continues their annual tradition of competing for The Carroll Cup at the 4th of July golf trip to the Boyne Highlands in northern Michigan. Some of his favorite activities included hiking Indiana parks, watching Detroit Tigers baseball, and playing with his grandchildren. He loved Rock 'n Roll music and could be heard "spinning the vinyl" any Friday evening at his home, "The Fox Den". His loving and inviting greeting of "Heeeeey Buddy!" could be heard throughout his neighborhood anytime a friend dropped by. Dale could hold a conversation with anyone and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his three children, Adrienne (Trey) Feldman of Westfield, Eric (Alicia) Carroll of Noblesville, and John (Rachel) Carroll of Westfield; four brothers, David (Christine) Carroll of Dexter, MI, Stephen (Jill) Carroll of Livonia, MI, Keith (Patricia) Carroll of Bonita Springs, FL, and Paul (Cheryl) Carroll of Plymouth, MI; four grandchildren, Adalyn Feldman, George Feldman, Emilia Carroll, and Luca Carroll; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
A memorial service will be held in Dale's honor on Saturday, May 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park in Noblesville, Indiana. Contributions in Dale's honor may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the Seeger Athletic Boosters at 1222 South State Road 263, West Lebanon, IN 47991.
