Attica - Danny Ray Kerr, 66, Attica, passed away in the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 8:03 p.m. with family at his bedside.
Dan was born in Lafayette, Indiana on April 27, 1956.  He was the son of the late Richard Gordon and Helen Louise (Chafin) Kerr.  Dan was raised in the West Point area, graduating from Southwestern High School in 1975.   Dan worked as a general contractor and was responsible for building over 200 homes.
Dan had been attending the Live Church in Lafayette.  His favorite pastime was gun collecting, hunting, boating, camping, road trips to no where in particular, being with family and friends in the mountains or along the river bank, conversing with everyone and telling stories.  Dan had a way with people that they gravitated toward him.  He enjoyed visiting with people and made them feel at ease.  He was a big advocate for family vacations and the making of disciples.  He was a follower of Jesus Christ.
On June 12, 1976, Dan married Lori K. Benedict in Lafayette.  They would have soon been married for 47 years.
Besides his wife, Lori, he leaves behind eight children, Angie (James) Slinker, Attica; Drew (Teressa) Kerr, Attica; Amie (Phil) Peeken, Waynetown; Jordan (Santos) Fernandez, West Point; Trevor (fiancée-Lisa) Kerr, Attica; Lacota (Chelsea) Kerr, Lafayette and Kevie Kerr, Attica along with an infant child, Casi who preceded in death; a brother, Rick (Sandy) Kerr, West Point and a sister, Judy Staley, Veedersburg; 18 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
As per Dan's request, cremation services were accorded him and a gathering will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a memorial service starting promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023,  at  Shiloh,  located at 605 E. Summit St. in Attica.
