Pine Village - David E. Gray, 82, Pine Village, passed away at his home with his family by his side, on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
David was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 26, 1943.  He was the son of the late Elwyn and Mariam (Neal) Gray.  Dave was a life member of the Pine Village community, graduating from Pine Village High School in 1961.
David ran the family business of Gray Electric in Pine Village for 50 years.  His father started the business and Dave carried on the tradition of plumbing and electrical work until his retirement in 2006.
David was a member of the Pine Village Masonic Lodge # 315 and the Order of Eastern Star.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute.  He was a member of the Pine Village Lions Club. He was an avid race car fan and in NASCAR rooted for anyone driving a Ford.  He was also an avid INDY car race fan and enjoyed reminiscing about the older race car drivers.  Locally he liked to tinker with race cars that ran at Chase speedway and other local racetracks.
On October 13, 1999, David married Valerie (Askren) Pierce in Henderson, KY.
David leaves behind his wife of nearly 26 years along with two daughters, Teresa (Chuck) Loft, Dayton, IN and Leann (companion-Casey)Meyer, Delphi, IN; a step daughter, Jodi ( Kevin) Ping, Attica and a step son, Matt (Laurie) Pierce, Attica; a sister, Denise (Gene) Long, Lebanon, IN; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great nephew, Camden Ping.
As per David wish, cremation services were accorded him and no formal service is planned.
