David Edward
Rothrock
May 10, 1948 — Aug 10, 2021
Attica
Attica, Indiana - David Edward Rothrock, 73, of Attica, Indiana died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 3:17 a.m after a short battle with heart disease that necessitated open heart surgery with multiple complications that he could not overcome.
David was born on May 10, 1948 in Chattahoochee, FL. He was the son of the late Dr. David Roswell Rothrock, Jr. and Ann Bridget (McDonough) Rothrock. He grew up in Miami and graduated from North Miami High School in 1966. Following High School, David continued his education at the LSU School of Banking and later received a Masters equivalent in Library Science. After residing in New Jersey for more than 20 years, he moved to Attica, Indiana just nine months ago.
David retired several years ago after a long career with Follett Library Resources where he sold K-12 library books in the NYC & NJ area. He had previously owned a printing company, was a stock broker and banker.
David married Carolyn "C.J." Feimster on July 31, 1999 at the Surf Club in Surfside, FL. They had grown up as childhood neighbors, reconnecting later in life. David placed an engagement ring in a glass of champagne that was served to "C.J." 60,000 feet above the earth while aboard the Concord on their way to London for a long weekend. Following their wedding a couple of years later they honeymooned in Paris, France.
David loved being with family and listening to music. He was very curious and never stopped learning. He was knowledgeable on many subjects and loved to discuss his views with anyone who was interested. He loved his new home in Attica, Indiana and was looking forward to golfing again, watching the beautiful sunsets with "C.J." from their Sun Room and enjoying retirement. David was a member of the Harrison Hills Country Club and Fountain County Landmarks.
Surviving along with his wife, "C.J." are two daughters, Bridget Louise Rothrock of Pembroke Pines, FL and Laura (Chris) Nicole Acs of Jamesburg, NJ; grandchildren, Sophia Acs, Ethan Acs & Olivia Henderson; Sister, Liz (David) Golden, Atlanta, GA; Brother, John (Patti) Rothrock, Santa Barbara, CA; and mother-in-law, "mom" Carolyn Helms, Attica.
A Memorial Service for David will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, IN on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with a gathering as a Celebration of Life to follow at David & CJ's home, 102 Golf Ridge Dr, Attica.
