Green Hill - Deborah Lea Ladd, 72 of Rural Otterbein, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 8:19 p.m., with her family by her side, in the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette, following her illness with cancer.
Debbie was born on  January 29,1951 to the late Robert Milton  and Alene (Miller) Ladd, in Lafayette Indiana. She is survived by her husband Charles E. Martin, her son Nathan J. Grogan, his wife Rene L. Grogan and her grandson Colton J. Grogan. Stepchildren include Abby Strickland, her husband Scott and their 3 children, Cooper, Madison and Cole;  Randy Martin his wife Megan and their two children Kaylin and Brody; and Evan Martin, his wife Kayla and their three children, Kallie, Hadley and Grady.
Debbie grew up in Oxford and  was a graduate of Purdue University from the School of Pharmacy, and a member of Sorority Phi Mu. She traveled extensively with her sisters to both Italy and France. She served her community as a Pharmacist and was the owner of Ladd Drugs in Oxford Indiana until her retirement. She and her husband Chuck also farmed and managed her local farmland where they raised corn, soybeans, hay and cattle.
Debbie had a love for nature and animals. She was a Master Gardener in Tippecanoe County and regularly hosted a stop on the Master Gardener Tour. She is a former member of the Battleground Saddle Club and enjoyed riding horses and camping with its members. She also loved raising and training her Dobermans and was an active member at the Lafayette Kennel Club.
Most of all Debbie loved her family and cherished her friendships. She was a talented host, cook and baker and enjoyed bringing loved ones together for any occasion.
As per Debbie's request, cremation services were accorded her and no formal service will be performed.
