Attica - Desmoin (Brownfield) Piper, 94, Attica, passed away at the home of her daughter in Kingman, IN, on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 7:10 a.m. She was surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly.
Desmoin was born in Glasgow, KY on January 29, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Ferguson) Brownfield. She was raised and educated in Glasgow, later moving to Attica in 1952.
While living in Attica, Desmoin worked at Radio Material Corp. She later was a stay-at-home mother, raising a family of four children. She later did baby sitting for local families in the community.
She was a member of the Attica Christian Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and raising a flower garden. She was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed playing cards and working with puzzles.
On February 4, 1946, Desmoin married Henry M. Piper in Glasgow, KY. Henry preceded her in death on August 30, 1984.
Desmoin leaves behind four children, Barbara (Harry) Weaver, Kingman; Jim (Marcia) Piper, Lorie (Todd) Arnold and Henry L. "Hank" (Carri) Piper, all of Attica; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, three great great grandchildren with one expected in February; two brothers-in-law, Bryant Piper and Roy Piper, both of Louisville, KY; many nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertie Woods, Byrdie Houchens and Jennie Lane along with four brothers, Charles, Robert Eugene, Junior and Joe Brownfield.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, November 26th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Rick Fay officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church.
