Attica - Dewayne Denton Wilson, 60, of rural Attica, passed away in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 5:35 p.m.
Dewayne was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 23, 1961. He was the son of Barbara Jane (Boggs) Wilson of Williamsport and the late Carol Denton Wilson. Dewayne grew up in Warren County near Winthrop and graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1980. He has reside in rural Attica in Warren County for the past 18 years.
Dewayne formerly worked at the Attica Ice Company for 25 years and for the past 20 years had been working for C & D Technologies in Attica.
Dewayne formerly attended the Bethel Community Church east of Attica. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hunting ginseng. He enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially his grandson, William "Scoot" Taylor.
On March 29, 1985, Dewayne married Charlotte V. Bowman in the Attica-Williamsport Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Dewayne leaves behind his wife, Charlotte of nearly 37 years; his mother, Barbara Jane Wilson, Williamsport; his daughter, Ashley (companion-Kyle Ransom) Wilson, West Lebanon; his grandson, William "Scoot" Taylor of West Lebanon; three brothers, Ron (the late Brenda) Wilson, Brian (Companion-Tanzy Sturgeon) Wilson and Mitch (companion-Julie Smith) Wilson, all of Attica; several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Carol D. Wilson; his granddaughter, Gracie Taylor and a sister-in-law, Brenda Wilson.
Friends may call at the Bethel Community Church, 1836 E. Bethel Road, Attica, on Thursday, February 10th from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tracy Acord officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery next to the church. Memorial contributions may be made to "Make-A-Wish Foundation" in memory of Dewayne Wilson and Gracie Taylor.
Family requests that masks be worn during the visitation and services.
