Lafayette - Diane Lynn (Knous) Buck, 78, Lafayette, passed away in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 8:41 p.m.
Diane was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 23, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Chester and Kathryn Corrine (Barnt) Knous. She was raised in Toledo, graduating from Rogers High School in 1964. She later received an Associates Degree in Business. While visiting with friends in Norfolk, Virginia, Diane met her future husband, George A. Buck, who was stationed in Norfolk with the U.S. Navy. They were married on July 5, 1969 in the Asbury First United Methodist Church in Toledo, Ohio. They later lived in Rhode Island, Florida and Independence, Indiana before moving to Lafayette in 1972.
Diane worked in retail merchandising with the former Blocks Store, Lazarus Store and finally with the Macy's Store, all in Lafayette. She then went to work at Lafayette Venetian Blind until she retired.
Diane was a member of the River Spring Church in Independence. She was an auxiliary member of the Indiana Volunteer Fire Department; Auxiliary member of the American Legion Post # 52 of Attica. She enjoyed sewing and crafting in her spare time.
Diane leaves behind her husband, George Alan Buck of 55 years along with three daughters, Kathryn (Joe) Hensley, Delphi, IN; Jessica (Steve Scott) Buck, Delphi, IN and Georgette (Ryan) Watson, Lafayette; two sisters, Fanchin (William) Wise, Venice, FL and Karen Sue (Richard) Machinski, Venice, FL; four grandchildren, Ethen Watson, Alyssia Watson, Auslynn (Ben) Ballard and Robert Turpin; a great granddaughter, Deliah Lynn Koontz. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jack, Jerry and John Knous along with a sister, Sharon Knous.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, August 14th, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a fireman's auxiliary memorial service being held at 6:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 15th, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
