Attica - Dorothy Mae (Kelley) Goodman, Lafayette, passed away in the Springs at Lafayette, on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 7:25 p.m.
Dorothy was born in Kokomo, Indiana on January 3, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Aquilla and Ida (Athens) Kelley. Dorothy was raised in the Tipton, Indiana area and attended Tipton High School.
Dorothy married Harold Goodman on September 10, 1940 in Tipton, IN. Harold preceded Dorothy in death on August 25, 1998.
Dorothy worked as an inspector for Delco Electronics in Kokomo, Indiana for 30 years. She retired in 1977. During the winters following retirement they wintered in Haines City, FL. She and her husband enjoyed Florida and decided to move to Winter Haven, FL and lived there until the passing of her husband, Harold in 1998. She moved to Forsyth, GA to be near family and later to Macon, GA before moving back to Indiana and settling in Lafayette.
Dorothy was a 50 year member of the Rosary Chapter # 66 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Haines City, FL. Dorothy was a voracious reader and enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting. She along with her husband enjoyed working with stained glass.
Dorothy leaves behind her children, Robert "Bob" Goodman, Winter Haven, FL; a daughter, Karen "Susy" (Gary) Hiller, Attica; a grandson, Brad (Kelly) Hiller, Attica; four great-grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Grace and Lucy Hiller. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, Bret Hiller.
As per Dorothy's wishes, cremation services will be accorded her and she will be buried with her husband in the Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell, FL at a later date.
