Williamsport - Duane "Gene" "Flea Bag" Eugene Aldridge, 67, Williamsport, passed away quietly at his home with family by his side on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 9:32 a.m.
Duane or Flea Bag as he was called by friends was born in Lafayette, Indiana on January 7, 1954. He was the son of the late Samuel Paul and Dorothy Ethel (Ashby) Aldridge. He was raised in Lafayette, graduating from Southwestern High School in 1972. He has been a resident of Warren County for the past six years.
Duane formerly worked at ALCOA in Lafayette for 8 years and later for Eli Lilly for 28 ½ years, retiring in 2010.
He enjoyed woodworking and assisted in building homes and log houses. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring old Dodge Power Wagons.
On March 21, 1981, Duane married Jacalyn Denise Waye in the Christ United Methodist Church in Lafayette.
He leaves behind his wife, Jacalyn of 40 years along with a son, Jason (Jennifer) Knecht, Judyville; a granddaughter, Autumn (Drew) VanMeter West Lafayette; Great Grandchildren, twins Audrey and Landon VanMeter; a sister, Sandra Kay (Max) Reed, Lafayette and a nephew, William Eugene (Heather) Reed, Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Rusty Reed.
Friends will be received at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, October 31st from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 1st at12:00 p.m. with Brenda McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Hope for Paws", 8950 W. Olympic Blvd. - #525, Los Angeles, CA 90211.
