Hillsboro - Dwight Richard Snyder, 88, Hillsboro, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 11:11 a.m.
Dwight was born at home in Hillsboro, Indiana on June 22, 1931. He was the son of the late Clarence L. and Beatrice Mildred (Hutts) Snyder. Dwight was a life resident of Hillsboro, graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1949.
Dwight worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Local Union 103 of Terre Haute. He retired in 1993.
Dwight was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. He enjoyed the time spent outdoors working and tending to his ponies.
On December 2, 1950, Dwight married Jeanette Lucille Simpson at her home south of Hillsboro. Jeanette preceded Dwight in death on July 12, 2012.
Dwight leaves behind a daughter, Cindy Snyder, Hillsboro; a son, Clarence (Dinah) Snyder, Crawfordsville; four grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a cousin, Michael (Joann) Spragg, Waynetown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Leon Snyder.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held at the Maus Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorial contributions in Dwight's memory may be made to the Sterling Christian Church.
