Attica - Earl Edward “Tut” Martin, 72, Attica, passed away in the Rosewalk Village of Lafayette on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 12:10 a.m. Earl, was born in Martinsville, Indiana on January 2, 1954. He was the son of the late Earl Franklin and Dorothy D. (Adams) Martin. Earl was a resident of Attica most of his life, attending Attica High School and received an Associates Degree from Ivy Tech in Lafayette in Supervision and Management. Earl worked for 43 years at C&D Battery in Supervision Earl formerly attended the Attica Christian Church. His hobby was collecting guitars. He held a black belt in Martial Arts and also instructed Martial Arts out of his home. He loved his dogs. On April 4, 1973, Earl married Brenda M. Thompson in Attica. He leaves behind his wife, Brenda of 53 years along with three children, Steve (Emily) Martin, Williamsport; Amy Cushman, Williamsport and Brian (Amanda) Martin, Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Mikayla, Katie, Stephanie, Eliza, Benson, Bryson and Bailey; a sister, Frances Martin, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Kersten Martin, a grandson, Elijah Cushman and a brother, Dave Martin. A gravesite service for Earl will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica, on Saturday, October 3rd at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
