Mellott - Earline S. (Shultz) Palin, 97, Mellott, passed away in the Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 6:30 a.m.
Earline was born in Richland Township of Fountain County, Indiana on March 24, 1927.  She was the daughter of the late J. Harold and Fern Elizabeth (Carpenter) Shultz.  She was a life resident of Richland Township, residing in Mellott.  She graduated from Richland Township High School in 1945 and later from Central Beauty College in Indianapolis in 1946.
Earline was a hairdresser, working out of her home since 1946.
She was a member of the Mellott Church of Christ and had been worshiping at the Newtown Community Church.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Quigle-Palin American Legion Post # 394 of Newtown.
On February 5, 1950, Earline married Donald M. Palin in Newtown.  Donald preceded her in death on January 28, 2009.
Earline leaves behind four children, Kenton Palin, Mellott; Curtiss (Rhonda) Palin, Ft. Collins, CO; Leroy  Palin, Mellott and Leonard Palin, Mellott; four grandchildren, Aaron Palin, Paula (Justin) Patton, Lauren (Jim) Braun, Nichole (Oscar Pagan) Vigil; six great-grandchildren, Kennedy (Alex Baldwin) Vigil  and Madison Vigil; Jordan and Jonathan McLain; Brayson and Shelby Braun; two great great-grandchildren, Hazel and Everett Baldwin; a sister, Nancy Marsh, Plainfield, IN and a brother, Larry (Mary) Shultz, Veedersburg.  Earline was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Palin.
A public gravesite service for Earline will be held in the Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, IN on Wednesday, May 15th at 2:00 p.m. with her cousin, Rev. Charlie Carpenter officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Newtown Cemetery Association.
