Williamsport - Edward Garold Mitton II, 73 of Williamsport, passed way on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 11:28 p.m. at his residence, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Ed was born in Williamsport, Indiana on May 10, 1947. He was the son of the late Edward G. and Betty J. (Ruark) Mitton. Ed was raised in Kramer and Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1965. He has resided in Williamsport since 1966.
Ed formerly worked at Myers Steel Fabricating in Attica. He later worked at Tee-Pak in Danville and retired from Fluid Dry in Wolcott. After high school, Ed entered the service and served in the U.S. Army. He received his honorable discharge in 1968.
Ed was a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica, serving as Past Post Commander. His hobbies included golfing and bowling and he bowled on Thursday Night League at Shawnee Lanes.
On January 8, 1966, Ed married Jenny L. Brown in the Attica Christian Church. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years along with two daughters, Michele (Tim) Allison, Attica and Tracy (Terry) Wade, Williamsport; a sister, Iris (Bill) Lister, Attica; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Caleb) Winger, Kayla (Tadd) Blanton, Lukas Allison and Terron Wade; four great-grandchildren, Houston Winger, Henley Winger, twins Sophie and Adley Blanton.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, April 11th, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 12th, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Hunter Chadwell officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica V.F.W. Post # 3318 or the American Cancer Society. Wearing of masks will be optional.
