Attica - Edward "Ed" Ray Rollins, 70, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Kingman, passed away in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 12:29 a.m.
Ed, as he was known to family and friends, was born in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, Indiana on August 14, 1951. He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Geneva (Laswell) Rollins. Ed was raised in Attica and graduated from Attica High School in 1969.
He worked at various jobs as a welder. He later lived in Indianapolis, Danville, IL and finally settled in Kingman.
On December 21, 1981, Ed married Rebecca Lynn Alkire in Angelina, TX. Rebecca preceded Ed in death in 2006.
Ed leaves behind his two daughters, Katherine "Kate" Ann Marie Rollins, Chicago, IL and Terra Christine Rollins, Danville, IL; Korrina Savage Rollins, who was a granddaughter, raised like a daughter from Indianapolis; an adopted granddaughter, Essence Smith, Danville, IL; a sister, Kay (Joe) Warmack, Attica; nieces, Cheri (Jim) Durako, Vicki (Wes) Farrar, Terresa (Kurt) Hartman and Kim (Brian) Short; a good friend and care giver, Donna Paris; his pet dog, Mr. Rico Ray. Ed was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernie and Robert Rollins along with a sister, Mary Ruth Scrimager.
As per Ed's request, cremation services were accorded him and a memorial service will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, July 1st at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Badgley officiating.
