Attica - Eleanor Louise (Slauter) Bodine, 98, Attica, passed away in the Williamsport Nursing and Rehab on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
Eleanor was born in Attica, Indiana on June 23, 1923 the oldest of six children. She was the daughter of the William O. and Margaret (Teague) Slauter. She was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School.
She was a homemaker. Eleanor was a member of the Attica Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and had been attending the Williamsport Christian Church. She enjoyed baking and was known for her homemade cookies and candy.
On March 30, 1947, Eleanor married James Russell "J.R." Bodine in Attica. J.R. preceded her in death on June 24, 2005.
Eleanor leaves behind a daughter, Candace Wright, Boise, ID; a granddaughter, Ashley (Matt) McKay; two great-granddaughters, Jaelyn and Iyla McKay; a sister, Patricia Martin, Indianapolis; many nieces and nephews and a nephew Don (Rita) Gayler, Attica who both took such great care of her in recent years. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers William Slauter, Richard Slauter and two sisters, Betty Clawson and Marge Adkins.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, January 13th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Hunter Chadwell.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
