Lafayette - Eugene Slate Kerr, 54, Lafayette, passed away in the Franciscan Heath East Hospital, Lafayette, on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. surrounded by his loving family. He battled health issues for the last several years.
Eugene was born in Lafayette, Indiana on May 26, 1967. He was the son of the late Thomas E. and Delilia Sue (Dallas) Kerr.
Eugene was a life resident of Lafayette, graduating from McCutcheon High School in 1985. He worked for the Local Union # 274 of Lafayette.
Eugene loved spending time with his family, playing cards, fishing, attending garage sales, cooking, traveling, camping and truly loved life.
Eugene leaves behind the love of his life, wife Carmen Kerr, Lafayette; a son, Dalton Kerr, Lafayette; a daughter, Emily (fiancé-Alex Stauffer) Kerr, Lafayette; three sisters, Starlett (Brian) Purcell, Lafayette; Yvonne (Randy) Budreau, West Point and Connie Cleary, Noblesville; a brother, Thomas (Janet) Kerr, Lafayette; nieces, Erica, Victoria, Tara and Moriah; nephews, Jordon, Slayton and Warren; great-nieces, Marlee, Maddy, Winter, Violet, Ariana and Alessandra; great-nephews, Jacek, Walter and Matthew.
A gravesite service for Eugene will be held in the Bethel Cemetery, east of Attica, on Monday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Vauters officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Maus Funeral Home to defray expenses.
