Oxford - Evon Delane Rasmussen, 72, formerly of Oxford and had been residing at the St. Mary Healthcare in Lafayette, passed away in St. Mary Healthcare on Friday, December 24, 2021 at 12:40 p.m.
Evon was born in Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana on July 12, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Ray and Donna Mae (Gilbert) Rasmussen. Evon was raised in Templeton and Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School. She later graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis. Evon work as a blood bank technician with Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis until her retirement in 2008. She had formerly lived in Huntsville, AL and later moved back to Oxford before going into the healthcare center.
Evon enjoyed sewing, knitting and bead crafts. She was a former troop leader for the Girl Scouts. She was an avid traveler. While working at Wishard Hospital, Evon formerly owned and operated the Flower Basket in Boswell.
In 1969, Evon married Timothy Orr in Oxford, IN.
Evon leaves behind her five children, Michael Orr, Attica; Jamie (Leslie) Orr, Thorntown, IN; Geoffrey (Isida) Malko-Rasmussen, Nineveh, IN; Jennifer Doblar, Montrose, SD and Clarissa Rasmussen, Attica; a sister, Beth (Gene) Shoaf, Attica; two brothers, Royce A. (Elizabeth) Rasmussen, Sullivan, IN and Ernest R. (Lisa) Rasmussen, Attica; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter with a great-grandchild expecting soon.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, December 30th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Darlene DeHaai officiating.  Burial will follow in the Justus Cemetery, Oxford, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
