Williamsport - Frances Joan (Martin) Miller Dunker, 91,of Reynolds, IN and formerly of the Attica - Williamsport area, passed away in the Rosewalk Village Nursing Center, Lafayette, on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 9:25 p.m.
Joan, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Delphi, Indiana on June 22, 1930. She was the daughter of the late James Francis and Fern Estella (Grandstaff) Martin. She was raised and educated in West Point and later moved to the Attica - Williamsport area in 1975. She later moved to Attica in 1989 followed by her move to Williamsport in 1990. She has been residing in Reynolds since 1990 and later moved back to Attica in 2003.
Joan formerly worked as a sales clerk for the Gosnell's Clothing Store in Attica for 15 years. She later worked as a housekeeper for various families in the Attica and Williamsport area until her retirement in 1990.
She was presently a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds.
Joan was first married to Paul Miller on April 9, 1949 in Michigan City, IN. Paul preceded her in death on March 3, 1975. Joan later married Raymond Dunker on October 6, 1990 in Reynolds, IN. Raymond preceded Joan in death on May 9, 2003.
Joan leaves behind three daughters, Joyce (Steve) Ransom, Williamsport; Pat (Gene) Nally, Attica and Paula (David) Dinwiddie, West Point; a step-daughter, Trudy Krintz-Coopman, Monticello; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; twenty-five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Catherine Sukits and Mary Rothrock; three brothers, Dick Martin , Dallas Martin and Robert Martin; a grandson, Scott Campbell and a step daughter, Rayetta Fedder.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, September 2nd with a gathering being held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the West Point Cemetery, West Point, IN.
