Attica - Frederick "Fred" Eugene Osborne, 90, Attica, passed unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:45 p.m.
Fred was born in Attica, Indiana on January 31, 1932. He was the son of the late George Edward and Oveta Pearl (Jenkins) Osborne. Fred was a life resident of Attica and graduated from Attica High School in 1950.
Fred worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica as a Foreman in the Cleaning Room. He worked for Harrison Steel for 44 years until his retirement.
Fred was an active member of the Attica First Lutheran Church where he served on the Administrative Council for over 30 years. Fred enjoyed the outdoors and spent many a day fishing. He was an avid Attica High School and Purdue University sports fan. He served on the Attica Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years. Fred served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader in Attica for several years. He was responsible for the achievement of 5 Eagle Scouts during his tenure as Scout Master.
On August 21, 1954 Fred married Patricia "Trish" Arline Anderson in Attica. Trish preceded him in death on February 7, 1993.
Fred leaves behind a son, Dennis (Sandra) Osborne, Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Rachel Osborne, Indianapolis; a sister, Betty (Frank "Tub") Pearl, Attica; a companion, Theresa McClure, Attica; several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by a son, Edward Osborne; two infant sisters, Opal and Deloris Osborne; a brother, Marvin Osborne and two sisters, Hazel Chamberlain and Donna Harris.
A private family gathering and service will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with burial to follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
