In Loving Memory of G. William (Bill) Burt III

With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of G. William (Bill) Burt III, who left this world on July 30, 2026, at the age of 51.
Bill was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, treasured family member, loyal friend, respected businessman, and a man of steadfast faith. He was the proud owner of W.H. Plumbing Co. for 28 years, where he built more than a successful business—he built lasting relationships rooted in honesty, integrity, hard work, and genuine care for the people in his community. He believed in treating every customer like family, and his legacy will continue through the values he instilled in those who worked beside him.
Born with a creative spirit and a love for music, Bill graduated from Seeger High School in 1993 before pursuing his passion at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in South Florida, where he earned a degree in Audio and Video Engineering. Although life eventually led him into the plumbing industry, he never lost the artistic passion that was part of who he was.
Music was woven into Bill's life from an early age. He began playing the drums at just 10 years old, and they remained one of his greatest passions throughout his life. He was an avid fan of Mötley Crüe and rarely passed up the opportunity to attend a concert. Whether behind a drum set or in the crowd with thousands of fellow fans, music brought him joy and was one of the ways he felt most alive.
Bill also enjoyed collecting firearms, a hobby he appreciated for the craftsmanship and history behind them. He loved spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, relaxing with a cold beer, and enjoying the simple moments that made life meaningful.
Above all, Bill was devoted to God. His faith guided the way he lived, the way he loved his family, and the compassion he showed to others. While he was not a perfect man, he trusted in God's grace and sought to live with integrity, kindness, and a servant's heart.
His greatest achievement, however, was not found in his work but in the love he shared with his family.
Bill met the love of his life, Jennifer, when they were both just 19 years old, and they were married at 20, beginning a journey together that would span more than three decades. Through life's many joys and hardships, they remained devoted to one another. Bill loved Jennifer with his whole heart, and his unwavering commitment to her never faltered. They were more than husband and wife—they were best friends, partners in every sense, and each other's greatest source of strength. Their love was steadfast, enduring, and the foundation upon which they built their family and their life together.
Nothing made Bill prouder than his children. They were his greatest joy and his most treasured accomplishment. He spoke of each of them with admiration and immense love. He deeply admired the men his son and stepsons had become and respected them immensely. His daughters were his heart and his greatest source of pride. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his children, and his love for them was unconditional, unwavering, and evident in every part of his life.
Bill also held a special place in his heart for his daughter-in-law, Khailie. He loved her as one of his own and was grateful for the love, happiness, and strength she brought into Gabriel's life and into their family. He treasured the bond they shared and was proud to call her his daughter-in-law.
When Jennifer's sister, Kristin Hunley-Hasser, was just 10 years old, Bill and Jennifer opened their hearts and home by obtaining guardianship of her and raising her together. To Bill, she was never simply a sister-in-law—she was family in every sense of the word, loved as a daughter while always sharing the unique bond of being his sister-in-law. He was honored to help guide her through life, and she held a special place in his heart.
Bill's heart grew even fuller with the arrival of his beloved granddaughter, Gwyndolyn Burt. Becoming "Grandpa" was one of the greatest joys of his life. She brought a special light into his world, and he cherished every moment he spent with her. Her smile could brighten any day, and the love he had for her was immeasurable. Watching his family grow into the next generation was one of his life's greatest blessings.

Bill was the kind of man who showed up when people needed him. Whether responding to a plumbing emergency, offering a helping hand, or simply listening, he never hesitated to serve others. His quiet strength, generous spirit, and dependable nature earned him the admiration and respect of everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer; his children, Gabriel and Khailie Burt, Elijah Reynolds, Nathaniel Reynolds, Hannah Burt, and Isabella Burt; his sister-in-law and daughter in love, Kristin Hunley-Hasser; his cherished granddaughter, Gwyndolyn Burt; his mother, Wendy Burt; his brother, Joseph Burt; along with many extended family members, dear friends, employees, and loyal customers whose lives were made better because they knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald William Burt II.
A Celebration of Life honoring Bill will be held later this month. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather to celebrate his life, share memories, and honor the remarkable man he was. The date, time, and location will be announced once arrangements have been finalized.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the W.H. Plumbing Christmas Fund for Children, a cause that was especially close to Bill's heart. Each year, Bill found great joy in helping provide Christmas gifts and hope to children in the community. The family believes there is no better way to honor his memory than by continuing this tradition of giving and ensuring his spirit of generosity lives on through the lives of children he would have loved to help.
Although our hearts ache beyond words, we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to share with Bill. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed. His faith in God, unwavering love for his family, generous heart, infectious laugh, passion for music, and commitment to serving others will remain his lasting legacy.
Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the family he cherished, the business he built, the community he faithfully served, and every child whose Christmas will be brighter because of the W.H. Plumbing Christmas Fund for Children. We will honor Bill by loving fiercely, giving generously, and living with the same servant's heart that defined his life.

A Celebration of Bill's life will be held in the West Mill Social Hall, 115 W. Mill St., Attica, on Sunday, August 30th at 1:30 p.m.  All are invited to this Celebration.
