Attica - Gary A. Davis, 80, Attica, passed away quietly at home, with family by his side, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.
Gary was born in Williamsport, Indiana on December 24, 1944.  He was the son of the late Harold Francis  and Margaret Eileen (Miles) Davis.  Gary was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1962.  He attended Devry Technical Institute in Chicago.
Gary was an electrician most of his life, working in construction and then 25 years for Purdue University until his retirement.  Gary was well known for his creative talent in building furniture and adding rooms to the family home.  He built a large back porch, all in barn built mortise and tendon journey.  Gary, along with his family, loved to landscape their large country yard.  He loved his family and church family.  A favorite time for Gary was working in the kitchen at the church for conferences and helping to serve the meals.  He made many friends, serving others.  Gary made Jesus the Lord of his life in 1969.  He was an active member of the Whitehorse Christian Center in West Lafayette and also had attended the Spirit of Life Church in Kingman.
On June 17, 1965, Gary married Priscilla R. Foster at the home of her grandparents Foster south of Attica.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Priscilla, of nearly 60 years.  Two sons, Aaron (Christine) Davis, Lafayette and Christopher (Lisa) Davis, Newton, IA; four grandchildren, Laura (Sam) Deary, Indianapolis; Nathan Davis, Newton, IA; Aria Davis, Indianapolis and Elias Davis, Lafayette; a sister, Karen (Dale) Kyle, Newburgh, IN.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at the Whitehorse Christian Center, 1780 Cumberland Avenue, West Lafayette, IN on Saturday, January 18th, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Jeff Johns, Steve Crum and Chaplain Clint Fink officiating.  Following his celebration a fellowship of visiting with family  will be held at the center.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the "Food for Friends" c/o Whitehorse Christian Center, 1780 Cumberland Avenue, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
