Attica - George Alan Steiger, 81, of Attica died at 2:39 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the IU Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.
George was born on March 30, 1943 in Kendallville.  He was the son of the late Walter Francis and Beverly A. (Hartman) Steiger and grew up in Benton.  He had studied Theology, History and Psychology at Indiana Academy - Cicero, Andrews University and Southern Adventist University.
George married Karen Gayle Rader on December 5, 1965 in Danville, IL.  She survives.
George worked as an over the road truck driver from 1971 - 2015.  He created Steiger Trucking in 1989, becoming an independent truck driver.  He and Karen would later work on the road together, her driving days and he driving at night.  He had attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Danville, IL for several years and was currently a member of the church in Lafayette.  He loved his dog, Peaches, and was an avid listener to audiobooks.
Surviving along with his wife, Karen Steiger, of Attica are a daughter, Annette Steiger, Attica; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Steiger, Tennessee.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter R. Steiger.
As per George's request, cremation will take place with a memorial service to be held at a later date.  His ashes will be placed in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
